DR. ARNON LAZO RIVERA –
EXTENT OF CLINICAL TROUBLESHOOTING OF PROSTHETIC RESTORATIONS
“Achieving success in prosthodontics requires the work of a good and reliable dental laboratory. But as clinicians we know that every prosthetic work from the dental lab would still need adjustments before the final installation in the patient. This presentation will include a lecture as well as an actual demonstration on how to troubleshoot common problems on fixed prostheses, removable partial dentures and complete dentures.”
DR. CLAVER ACERO JR.-
INDIRECT DENTAL RESTORATIONS, CADCAM TECHNOLOGY AND CHAIRSIDE ADJUSTMENT OF CERAMICS
” Recently, many kinds of materials has been developed to be used for indirect restorations. Also, many kinds of laboratory fabrication techniques have been introduced. Basically the materials commonly used are: Metal alloys, laboratory composites, castable, milled or veneering ceramics or their combination. However, the material science, biocompatibility and technical considerationsin the use of these materials is not well considered as part of out treatment planning. ”
This presentation will emphasize the importance of the knowledge of the properties of the materials, the technical aspect of their fabrication and the appropriate condition they can be applied. The presentor’s personal cases which utilized the above mentioned materials will be discussed in this lecture. The lecture will also highlight the CAD CAM technology and its advancement as applied to fixed prosthodontics.

Dentine hypersensitivity is defined as a short, sharp pain arising from exposed dentin in response to stimuli, which cannot be ascribed to any other form of dental defect or pathology. It is typically found in patients whose dentin has become exposed by gingival recession, erosion or tooth wear. Majority of the sufferers are unaware that the condition is easily identifiable and treatable. This lecture will discuss on how to perform a more effective dental examination to be able to diagnose different causes of pain and render an appropriate treatment plan.
